2010 India Autumn Bible Conference Report (by M. Jimmy Lee)

Key verse: John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Praise and thank God for blessing 2010 India Autumn Bible Conference abundantly. The main theme was the Love of God. God used 9 speakers powerfully to reveal God’s unconditional and sacrificial love very well. Some specific work of God is as follows:

First, God raised 3 junior shepherds as graceful messengers among 9 speakers. This year sh Ravi (Ph.D 2nd year, Physics in JNU) delivered evening message “Zacchaeus, come down.” (Lk 19:1-10). Sh Active (Middle School teacher and MA English in DU North) delivered “Father’s Compassionate Love” (Lk 15:11-32) and sh Jitendra (BA Graduate, DU North) delivered “I will make you fishers of men.” (Mk 1:14-20). It was their first time to deliver messages during Autumn Conference but they prepared with learning mind and all of them delivered very fresh and graceful messages. We could have vision to raise more junior shepherds as messengers in the next year’s conference.

Second, growing disciples could have stewardship in our ministry by serving this conference. For example, in JNU Center, two shepherd candidates (Andrew and Wungreishang) coworked together and voluntarily served dancing team and special song team and singspiration team with good leadership. As a result, 6 dance team performed excellent dance and 11 members’ choir also sang a beautiful special song. Their singspiration was full of spirit and vitality. We could see new vision and hope to raise many committed disciples of Jesus. I thank God for using our growing disciples as stewards in our ministry. In DU North, brother Gautam shared a graceful life testimony with the title “from a gangster into a disciple of Jesus.” After meeting Jesus his life was changed and now he wants to be a police officer to serve many gangster like students. DU North brothers prepared a heart-moving drama and offered to God.

Third, God blessed girl students’ ministry in DU North abundantly. In DU North center, faithful girl students are growing spiritually and they have served singspiration and a beautiful traditional dance and drama, etc. We could see a great vision to raise up many women of faith from DU North center. From JNU Center, four sisters are growing spiritually. They served a dance and special song. We could see a new sign of girl students’ ministry in the near future.

Fourth, coworkers from all chapters in India participated at this conference and made a vessel of the Holy Spirit firmly. This year God sent 82 members to this conference (JNU:26; DU North:32; SAC: 6; DU East: 5; Bangalulu:2; U.P.State:1; Delegates: 10) For this conference, two coworkers (M. James Kang and brother Suresh) came from Bangalulu (South India, 2 and a half hours journey by airplane). Sh James Kang shared his graceful life testimony and mission report. one coworker (Brother Anil Das; Assist Professor in St. Andrews college) has come from U.P. State (6 hours by train). God sent brothers and sisters from 4 chapters in New Delhi, such as DU East (newly pioneered center), SAC, DU North and JNU. We could meet and encourage each other and had a good spiritual fellowship. Especially we prayed that God may raise up one man of faith firmly in each center: SAC (brother Naresh), DU East (brother Rohit), Bangalulu (brother Suresh). This year also 10 foreign delegates (8 from Korea and 2 from Germany) participated at this conference and supported through prayer and fellowship. We were greatly encouraged by sh David Kim & shds Sarah Kim, shds Chong Ae Choi and M. Kaleb Hong for their sacrificial serving and prayer support for the speakers and sheep.

Fifth, we are praying for spiritual revival ministry after Autumn Bible Conference. one brother Niton in DU North participated at this conference for the first time and heard Jesus’ voice on the cross “It is finished.” He repented of his sinful life and accepted Jesus as his Savior. This year we could not invite many new sheep but we could see clear work of God among growing disciples through their stewardship and voluntary participation in our ministry. We are praying to raise up many young disciples as one to one Bible teachers.
